Who we see
People come to us at very different stages. Some have worn dentures for years. Some have a few failing teeth and have been told the rest won’t last. Others are younger and dealing with the effects of trauma, earlier dental work or a genetic condition. What they have in common is that they want to understand their options clearly before committing to anything.
Living with dentures
You may be finding your denture loose, uncomfortable or hard to eat with, and want to know whether fixed teeth are possible.
Failing teeth
Several teeth may be loose, broken or affected by gum disease, and you’ve been told that saving them may not be realistic.
A second opinion
You may already have a plan or a quote from elsewhere and want an independent view before you decide.
Assessment first. Decisions second.
Full Arch Australia was founded on a simple observation: patients often understood the procedure better than they understood their own situation. So we start with the situation.
Understand your mouth
A clinical examination and, where indicated, 3D imaging show the condition of your teeth, gums and jawbone — and what that means for your options.
Compare real options
Full arch implants are one option among several. We’ll explain the alternatives, including dentures and implant-retained overdentures, and tell you if another approach suits you better.
Decide with everything in writing
You’ll receive a written, itemised plan and quote, with time to think it over, ask questions or seek a second opinion.
What treatment involves
Every plan is individual. The number of implants, the timeline and the anaesthetic approach depend on your health, your bone and the clinical findings. This is the general sequence.
-
1
Assessment
Examination, medical history, 3D imaging where indicated, and a discussion of your options and costs.
-
2
Planning
Your clinician plans implant positions and your new teeth digitally. You receive a written plan and quote.
-
3
Surgery
Any failing teeth are removed and the implants are placed — usually four to six per arch.
-
4
Provisional teeth
Where clinically appropriate, a fixed provisional bridge is fitted on the day of surgery or within a few days.
-
5
Healing
typically several monthsThe implants integrate with the bone. You follow a staged diet and attend reviews.
-
6
Definitive teeth and ongoing care
Once healing is confirmed, your definitive bridge is fitted, followed by regular maintenance reviews.

What you should know before deciding
It’s surgery
Implant treatment carries risks, including infection, implant failure, nerve injury and complications of anaesthesia or sedation. Your clinician will explain the risks that apply to you.
It isn’t for everyone
Some people are better served by other options, such as dentures, implant-retained overdentures or individual implants. If that’s the case for you, we’ll say so.
It needs ongoing care
Implants and bridges need daily cleaning and regular professional maintenance. Repairs to the bridge are common over the long term, and it may eventually need replacing.
Seven clinics. One clinical approach.
Full arch assessments are available at each of our seven clinics. Where your surgery and each stage of treatment take place is confirmed in your treatment plan.
Clear about costs from the start
Full arch treatment is a significant investment, and costs vary with what each person needs. After your assessment you’ll receive a written, itemised quote listing every stage of treatment, so you can see exactly what is included before you decide.
How fees and payment workCommon questions
Full arch implant treatment replaces all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw with a fixed bridge supported by a small number of implants, usually four to six. It may be considered when most or all teeth are missing or can’t be saved. It involves surgery and a restorative phase, and suitability is decided after a full clinical assessment.
Not always. A fixed provisional bridge needs the implants to be held firmly enough in the bone at surgery. Many people who are suitable have one fitted on the day or within a few days. If it isn’t appropriate for you, your clinician will explain the alternative before surgery.
Surgery is performed under local anaesthetic, with or without sedation, or under general anaesthesia in an appropriate facility. The options available depend on your health and on where your surgery is planned. Your clinician will confirm the approach, and any cost, before your surgery date.
The area is fully numbed during surgery. Afterwards, most people have swelling, bruising and discomfort for several days. Pain relief and instructions are provided, and most people find it settles substantially within the first week, though everyone’s experience differs.
Costs depend on what you need: one or both arches, the number of implants, any extractions or grafting, the bridge materials and the anaesthetic approach. After your assessment you’ll receive a written, itemised quote before you decide. See Fees and payment.
